HARPSWELL — The Board of Selectmen renewed Town Planner Mark Eyerman’s contract for another year, at a reduced hourly rate.

The board initially extended the contract in January, through Eyerman’s firm Planning Decisions. That agreement was for $100 an hour, and about 10 hours of work a week.

The new agreement is between the town and Eyerman’s new company, which is called Plan ME. Eyerman’s rate will now be $60 an hour, for an estimated 12-15 hours a week.

Harpswell has been without a full-time town planner since Eyerman’s wife, Carol Eyerman, left for a position in Topsham in March 2015.
