HARPSWELL — Harold Cass “Bud” Weeks, Jr., 77, died July 24 at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.
Born in Marlborough, Mass. on Aug. 17, 1932, he was the son of Harold C. Sr., and Sadie Weeks.
In 1946 he moved to Harpswell, and graduated from Brunswick High School in 1952.
During the Korean War he served in the U.S. Navy on a Goodwill Tour of Europe. After his return he attended the Maine Vocational Technical Institute, and graduated in 1957.
On June 29, 1957, he married Ruth Estes.
For a brief time he worked in Connecticut before moving back to Harpswell in 1959.
In 1962, he opened Weeks Lawn & Garden Center in Topsham, and operated it until he retired in 1990 due to ill health.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ruth of Harpswell; a son, Harold C. Weeks, III of Harpswell; a sister, Sally Turner of Winthrop; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 31, at Elijah Kellogg Church in Harpswell.
