PORTLAND — A series of meetings for applicants interested in buying Habitat for Humanity homes in Freeport and Scarborough continue Saturday, Feb. 21, at the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Portland office, 659 Warren Ave.

The meetings will cover ownership requirements and qualifications, and how to apply. Those interested in attending are advised to arrive about 15 minutes early and be prepared to take notes. Pre-registration is required and can be done online by calling 772-2151 or emailing homeownership@habitatme.org. For more information about the housing, visit habitatportlandme.org.

Additional meetings will be held in Portland at noon on Feb. 26, 5 p.m. March 12, noon March 14, 5 p.m. April 2, and noon April 23. Scarborough meetings will be held at 6 p.m. March 18, noon March 19, 6 p.m. April 15 and noon April 18 at Scarborough Public Library, 48 Gorham Road.

Construction of eight homes is underway at 18 Hummingbird Lane in Freeport; construction of 13 homes off Broadturn Road in Scarborough is expected to begin in the spring.
