PORTLAND — Maine Green Independent candidates for the state Legislature changed again last week, when a new candidate in Senate District 28 was selected and the candidate for House District 38 withdrew from the race.

East Lawn Road resident Owen Hill replaces Danielle Unterreiner in Senate District 28, the seat now held by Sen. Anne Haskell, a Democrat. In House District 38, May Street resident Thomas MacMillan withdrew from the race July 28, after the deadline when a replacement candidate could be chosen.

MacMillan said in a news release Sunday he was forced to withdraw after he lost the lease on his apartment and could not find a new home in the district, which covers the city’s West End. The seat is currently held by Democratic Rep. Matthew Moonen.
