Greely senior Courtney Sullivan, fresh off leading the Rangers to the girls’ hockey state title last month, was recently named the first winner of the Becky Shaffer Award, given to the state’s top senior girls’ player. Sullivan had 35 goals and 15 assists this season and scored over 100 goals during her career. Schaffer was a 2006 graduate of Yarmouth High School, where she played hockey. Schaffer played club hockey at McGill University in Canada and passed away in a hiking accident in Micronesia in 2011.
