Many swimmers and divers from Forecaster Country impressed at the recent Class A and B state meets.

Greely’s girls took defending champion Cape Elizabeth to the wire in Class B before their 335 points left them 16 points short.

The Rangers wracked up a lot of points in the relays, as the medley squad (Courtney Rog, Elizabeth Domingo, Maddie Rawnsley and Kyla Moroney) was runner-up to Morse with a time of 1 minute, 56.36 seconds, the 400 freestyle team (Greta Van Curan, Rawnsley, Jaehee Park and Lily Black) was second to Cape Elizabeth in 3:48.23 and the 200 freestyle squad (Rog, Van Curan, Black and Park) came in third in 1:42.70.

Julia Bisson won the diving title with 396.30 points. Rog was runner-up in the individual medley (2:13.79) and second in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.45). Park finished second in the 200 free (1:58.93) and second in the 500 free (5:29.38). Van Curan placed third in the 100 backstroke (1:01.54) and was fourth in the 50 free (25.31). Black was sixth in the 200 free (2:06.56) and sixth in the 500 free (5:45.54).  Lily Hayden-Hunt came in sixth in diving (213.70). Domingo finished sixth in the breaststroke (1:13.72). Rawnsley was seventh in the 100 butterfly (1:03.25) and seventh in the backstroke (1:05.94).

Yarmouth (153 points) finished sixth for the third time in five years. The Clippers were led by Zoe Siegel, who was fourth in both the IM (2:18.92) and the fly (1:01.84). Joan Estabrook finished eighth in the 500 free (5:48.60). Natalie Bourassa placed eighth in the breaststroke (1:15.07). Yarmouth’s 400 free relay team (Siegel, Bay Hanson, Kara Murray and Estabrook) came in fifth (4:02.66). The medley relay squad (Eliza Brown, Bourassa, Hanson and Murray) was eighth (2:06.54).

The Class B boys’ meet was won by Mt. Desert Island with 343 points. Yarmouth (123) placed eighth, Greely (108.5) was 10th and Freeport (5) came in 18th.

The Clippers were paced by Sean Whynot, who won the diving title with 271.35 points. Ben Cox-Faxon was sixth in the breaststroke (1:06.13). Yarmouth’s medley relay team (William Lenardson, Cox-Faxon, Charles Keefe and Zachary Mogul-Campbell) placed seventh in 1:49.88. The 200 free relay (Keefe, Lenardson, Conor Wolff and Mogul-Campbell) was eighth (1:39.06).

The Rangers top finisher was Nicolas Giandrea (eighth in the 500 free, 5:22.80). Greely’s 200 free relay team (George Holt, Cole Moore, Carter Lawless and Atticus Smith) was fifth (1:36.53). The 400 free relay squad (Jared Merrifield, Giandrea, Moore and Smith) was eighth (3:38.38).

In Class A, Falmouth’s girls produced their best showing since 2010, third overall, after producing 226.5 points (Cony was first with 280). The Yachtsmen were led by runner-up diver Sophia Ham (360.60 points).

Falmouth’s 400 free relay team (Grace Perron, Quinn Chicoine, Keller Gardner and Mae Causey) was runner-up to Scarborough in 3:51.35. The Yachtsmen’s medley relay (Adeline Ziobro, Maria Fuentes-Cantillana, Chicoine and Causey) finished fourth (1:57.63). The 200 free relay (Fuentes-Cantillana, Sophie Harrington, Gardner and Sarah Baumann) came in sixth (1:48.81).

Causey was third in the fly (1:02.51) and fourth in the 50 free (25.99). Fuentes-Cantillana finished fifth in the breaststroke (1:12.68) and seventh in the IM (2:22.12). Perron was fifth in the 500 free (5:33.61) and eighth in the 200 free (2:04.45). Chicoine was seventh in the fly (1:05.51).

The Falmouth boys tallied 41 points and came in 19th (Cheverus won its sixth straight crown with 328 points). Griffin Conley was the runner-up diver (320.25).
