PORTLAND — Side x Side, an organization that works to increase arts integration in local classrooms, was awarded a grant to create an after-school program on Peaks Island and at Ocean Avenue Elementary School.

The organization was awarded $7,560 from the Peaks Island Fund of the Maine Community Foundation for a multidisciplinary program with artists Pamela Moulton and Jamie Hogan. The after school program will align with a curriculum on land forms and World War II history.
