PORTLAND — A Portland man facing charges for several sex crimes allegedly committed in Scarborough, and two people arrested in an October drug raid in Portland, were indicted Dec. 4 by a Cumberland County grand jury.

Timothy M. Hunt, 28, of 991 Forest Ave., was scheduled to appear Tuesday in Cumberland County Superior Court after his indictment on six Class A counts of gross sexual assault and six Class B charges for incidents involving an 8-year-old girl left in his care at a Scarborough motel.

Denise Parham, 54, whose 638 Congress St. apartment in Portland was raided by Maine Drug Enforcement Agency agents Oct. 6, was indicted on two counts each of Class A aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs and Class B trafficking in scheduled drugs.

Her associate, Gabriel Williams, 28, of 2940 W. 21st St., Brooklyn, N.Y., was indicted on two Class A charges of aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs and Class B possession of scheduled drugs.

Authorities will also seek the criminal forfeiture of more than $2,600 seized in the raid.

Indictments are findings there is enough evidence to prosecute, not determinations of guilt.

Court records show Hunt was charged Sept. 26 after Scarborough Police Department detectives Don Blatchford and Garrett Strout investigated a complaint made by the girl’s mother, who allegedly interrupted a July 16 assault when she came home from work. The incidents were also investigated by the Maine Department of Health and Human Services.

According to the report by Blatchford, Hunt also told police he had been a victim of abuse, was unemployed, and had sought medical attention for post-traumatic stress disorder.

Parham and Williams were among four people arrested in the afternoon raid on Oct. 6, when agents seized 125 grams of heroin and 72 grams of cocaine base valued at an estimated $30,000.

Documents filed by MDEA Special Agent Bradley Rogers said the drugs were found hidden in a bedroom ceiling, stashed in a beverage can with a false bottom.

Rogers said agents also found a cell phone used in drug deals. Agents were tipped to the alleged drug dealing by neighbors and conducted an investigation lasting about six months.

At the time of his arrest in October, Williams was out on bail from a May 6 drug-related arrest in Portland. He is expected to appear in Cumberland County Superior Court on Dec. 18.
