First-grader Ella Phelan returns from the pumpkin patch with her Pond Cove Elementary School classmates on Monday, Sept. 29, during a field trip at Alewive’s Brook Farm in Cape Elizabeth. All Cape Elizabeth first-graders are visiting the farm to learn about the life cycle of pumpkins, part of a farm studies program in conjunction with the Cape Elizabeth Farm Alliance.
