PORTLAND — Gamers are invited to spend all day Saturday, Nov. 7, playing for a good cause in a fundraiser that will benefit the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital at Maine Medical Center.
Hospital spokeswoman Susan Pierter said the 24-hour “Extra Life” event, a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital program, will take place at Arcadia National Bar, 24 Preble St.
After registering for free at Extra-Life.org, gamers can choose a hospital, set a fundraising goal and get sponsors. Pierter said the 2014 event raised $30,000 for the hospital.
Additional event sites are the Walker Memorial Library, 800 Main St., Westbrook; the American Legion Hall at 300 Conant St. in Westbrook, and Crossroads Games, 15 Fort Hill Road, Standish.
