SCARBOROUGH — Galen K. Huff, 75, of Scarborough, died July 11 at his home, surrounded by his family.

Huff was born Feb. 15, 1939, in Bridgton, the son of Kenneth O. and Viva A. (Sinclair) Huff. He was educated in Scarborough schools and graduated as salutatorian of the Scarborough High School Class of 1957.

He served in the U.S. Army for six years, and worked for over 30 years with Fred I. Merrill Construction in South Portland. He later worked at H & H Rigging of Falmouth until his retirement.

Huff’s hobbies included gardening, hunting, fishing and bowling. He enjoyed attending Sea Dogs games, watching the Red Sox and following NASCAR.

He is predeceased by his wife, Rita, and two brothers, Reginald E. Huff and Duane W. Huff.

Huff is survived by a son, Marc V. Huff, of Scarborough; two sisters, Janice Verrill and husband, Donald, of Minot, and Carlene Wood of Scarborough; a brother, Darrell M. Huff and wife, Betty, of Scarborough; and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours were held Wednesday, followed by a funeral at Hobbs Funeral Home, Scarborough. Burial was at Brooklawn Memorial Park, Portland.

The family extends special thanks for the care provided by Marla, Pam and Hope of VNA Home Health & Hospice.
