It may have been only 18 degrees (4 with the wind chill) on Saturday, Feb. 3, at East End Beach in Portland, but that didn’t stop about 80 hearty dippers from plunging into the ocean to support Camp Sunshine and its mission of sending children with life-threatening illnesses and their families to summer camp in Casco. The event raised about $15,000, which is enough to support at least six campers. (Dudley Warner / For The Forecaster)
