Freeport recently handed out its winter sports awards.
Boys’ basketball gave its Coach’s award to Matt Schutheis, its Master Charge award to Jack Davenport and its Booster’s Pride and Character award to Chandler Birmingham.
Junior varsity Athletic Excellence awards went to Matt Neilson and Caleb Rice. The JV Booster’s Pride and Character award was given to Bryan Lee.
The first team’s Athletic Excellence awards went to Brandon Cass and Erick Pelletier. The Booster’s Pride and Character award went to Ben Sawyer.
On the girls’ side, Jessica Wall was named Most Improved Player, Ashley Richardson got the Coach’s award and the Booster’s Pride and Character award was given to Lauren Cormier.
The JV team’s Athletic Excellence awards went to Jill Baker and Danielle Foster. Kaitlin Johnson won the Booster’s Pride and Character award.
The first team gave Athletic Excellence awards to Tatum Erlandson and Nicole Perry. Ireland Hall won the Booster’s Pride and Character award.
Indoor track gave its Finish Line awards to Bethanie Knighton and Harrison Stivers. Erik Brobst and Hannah Schnyder were given the Starting Block awards. Gabby Tiilton and Nick Wilson won Booster’s Pride and Character awards.
Alpine skiing’s Athletic Excellence awards went to Caleb Abbott and Wynne Cushing, while Ryder Bennell and Julia Schneider took home Booster’s Pride and Character awards.
On the Nordic side, Coach’s awards were given to Lily Lamarre and Elijah McCurdy. Hustle awards went to Virginia Fullarar and Bennett Hight. Perrin Davidson and Lily Johnston took home Booster’s Pride and Character awards.
The cheering Coach’s award went to Rachel Sayward. Mariah Taylor was named Most Improved. Kasey Erlebach took home the Booster’s Pride and Character award.
Sydney Ambrose, Meredith Broderick, Emma Egan, Lily Lamarre, Danielle Morency, Nick Nelsonwood, Jessica Perry, Ashley Richardson, Hayley Steckler and Gabriel Tilton qualified for the Western Maine Conference All-Academic team.
Max Thomas Scholarships went to Emma Egan and Nick Nelsonwood.
