The Freeport YMCA Stripers swim team took home two titles and broke four team records at the recent state championship meet. The 11-and-12-year-old girls’ and the 11-and-12-year-old boys’ and girls’ combined teams were crowned champions. The Stripers also won state titles in 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2014. Sophie Harrington, Piper Priddy, Adeline Ziobro and Zoe Siegel set a new team record in winning the girls’ 200 freestyle relay. Priddy, Ziobro, Siegel and Lina Jordan set a new team mark in the 200 medley relay. The 14-and-under girls’ relay team of Natalie Bourassa, Emma Anghel, May Causey and Tholia Hallett broke the 200 free relay record and the boys’ 12-and-under relay team of Connor Wolff, Elias Thomas, Nathaniel Henninger and Brian Brogan set a new mark in the 200 medley relay.
