Freeport recently gave out awards to its top high school and middle school winter athletes.

At the high school, the boys’ varsity basketball team named Thomas Dorsey its Most Valuable Player. The Coach’s award went to Josh Weirich. The Booster’s Pride and Character award was given to Jackson Dodge.

The boys’ junior varsity squad gave Athletic Excellence awards to Seth Crean and Joe Loeman. The JV Booster’s Pride and Character award went to Dominic Brescia.

Girls’ varsity basketball named Rachael Foster MVP. Kayla Bibeau won the Coach’s award. Shradha Miller won the Booster’s Pride and Character award.

The JV Athletic Excellence awards went to Erin Hall and Jessica Hench. Allyson Fuehrer won the JV Booster’s Pride and Character award.

Indoor track gave its Finish Line awards to Adrian Baker and Griffin Day. Starting Block awards went to Taylor Saucier and Ciera Wentworth. Jordan Roy won the Booster’s Pride and Character award.

The Alpine ski program gave Captains awards to Ian Morency and Mia Taggart. Ryan Collet was named Most Valuable Skier. Taylor Enrico and Abby Latulippe won Booster’s Pride and Character awards.

Nordic skiing gave its Most Improved Skier award to Alex Sturtevant. Kiera Berkemeyer and Spencer Egan won Coach’s awards. Ellie Soule and Bennett Wade won Booster’s Pride and Character awards.

Emily Drummond, Rachael Foster, Max Jennings, Ian Morency, Brianna Wellen and Lucy Whitacre qualified as Winter Scholar-Athletes.

Max Thomas Scholarship winners included Ian Morency and Mialia Taggart.

At the middle school level, Athletic Excellence awards went to the following:

• 8th grade boys’ basketball Shane Crean and Joe Nixon

• 7th grade boys’ basketball Ramsey Dodge and Jake Salter-Gurau

• ‘A’ team boys’ basketball Ethan Roney and Tyler Wilson

• 8th grade girls’ basketball Lexi Dietrich and Emily Morang

• 7th grade girls’ basketball Jill Baker and Becca Bonney

• Alpine skiing Wynne Cushing, Ellie Pier, Caleb Abbott and Spencer Drake

• Nordic skiing Ryder Bennell and Emily Johnson

Sports Booster’s Pride and Character awards were given to the following:

• 7th grade boys’ basketball Quinn Dowling
