FREEPORT — The regular Town Council meeting was postponed Tuesday when not enough council members attended.

The rescheduled meeting will be held at 8 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 20 at Wolfe’s Neck Farm, 625 Wolfe’s Neck Road. The meeting will follow a 6:30 p.m. workshop for residents of Freeport’s District 2.

Councilors Rich DeGrandpre, Kristina Eagan, and Chairman Jim Hendricks voted unanimously Tuesday to postpone the meeting. Councilors Scott Gleeson, Melanie Sachs, Tracy Stevens and Andy Wellen were absent.

Town Manager Peter Joseph on Monday announced the possibility of postponement, because Hendricks anticipated a lack of a quorum for the Tuesday meeting. A majority of councilors must be in attendance in order to conduct a meeting, according to the town rules. The council has seven members.
