The Freeport Middle School boys’ Alpine ski team won the recent state championship. Blake Enrico won the slalom with Ryder Bennell second, Jay Pier fourth and Caleb Abbott 10th. In the giant slalom, Bennell was third and Enrico fourth. Combined with Nordic, Freeport was third. The girls won the Nordic crown. Emily Johnson was fourth in the skate. On the Alpine side, Wynne Cushing came in fourth in the slalom. Combined, the Freeport teams also took home the Spirit Award for the second year in a row.
