FREEPORT — Town Manager Dale Olmstead will present his suggestions to close a $366,000 budget gap at a Town Council meeting Tuesday, Feb. 23, at 7 p.m. in Town Hall.

Olmstead’s first tier of suggestions include emergency dispatch consolidation with Brunswick and reduction of personnel. The second group of suggestions include small reductions across a broad group of programs. If accepted, the reductions would avoid a 7 percent increase in the municipal tax rate.

The public is invited to attend the meeting and speak about the proposals. To view the suggestions, visit freeportmaine.com and click on the manager’s proposed budget reductions under Municipal News.
