FREEPORT — A February traffic stop will lead to an April 25 court appearance in Portland for a local man indicted on drug charges.

Seth Dipietrantonio, 33, a Picnic Hill Road resident, was indicted by a Cumberland County grand jury last week on two Class A charges of aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs.

Dipietrantonio was arrested at State and High streets in Portland on Feb. 26 after police allegedly discovered more than six grams of heroin. He was released on $2,500 cash bail.

His bail was revoked March 23 after he was arrested on the Maine Turnpike in Wells and charged by Maine State Police with being a felon in possession of a firearm, sale and use of drug paraphernalia and violating conditions of release.

Court records show Dipietrantonio was convicted of furnishing scheduled drugs in August 2006.

The indictment is finding that enough evidence exists to prosecute, not a finding of guilt.
