Gregory Thompson, 48, of Wardtown Road in Freeport, is moved to a LifeFlight helicopter after he was critically injured while riding an all-terrain vehicle in his driveway on Monday evening. Warden Rick Stone said Thompson’s wife told officers she looked out a window and saw her husband flying through the air as the ATV rolled over in the driveway at about 6 p.m. Thompson was not wearing a helmet. Freeport Fire and Rescue provided medical assistance before the helicopter transported Thompson to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. The cause of the accident remained under investigation by the Maine Warden Service on Tuesday morning.
