FREEPORT — The Freeport Historical Society will host a lecture Jan. 30 on the town’s early 19th century maritime history.
The program, “Freeport’s Maritime History in the Age of Pirates, Porters and Paddlewheels,” will begin at 7 p.m. at Freeport Public Library, 10 Library Drive. The lecture is free for members of the historical society and $5 for nonmembers.
Allen Hall will present his revisionist’s history of Porter’s Landing and focus on its “vital link to New England’s maritime economy.”
