After a very competitive campaign, Freeport recently held its Fall Sports Awards night and paid tribute to many of its standouts.

Football, after an inspirational season which featured a first-ever win over rival Yarmouth and a trip to the playoffs, gave its Most Improved Offensive Player award to Cody Vachon, its Most Improved Defensive Player award to Austin Langely and its Boosters’ Pride and Character Award to Josh Burke.

The junior varsity football team gave Athletic Excellence Awards to Deven Hannon and Adam Ulrickson and its Boosters’ Pride and Character Award to Hunter Demers.

Both soccer teams made the playoffs this autumn and both boasted strong performers.

The boys’ varsity squad gave Coaches’ awards to Joey Burke and Max Heathco and the Boosters’ Pride and Character Award to Joe Ashby.

The boys’ JV team gave Athletic Excellence awards to Jason D’Amico and Kaleb Barrett and its Boosters’ Pride and Character Award to Weston Goodwin.

The boys’ first team gave Athletic Excellence Awards to Gabe Johnson and Sam Tourigny and the Boosters’ Pride and Character Award to Jacob Selian.

The girls’ varsity soccer team gave Coaches’ awards to Jordan Randall and Becca Cameron and its Boosters’ Pride and Character Award to Olivia Alterio.

The JV team gave Athletic Excellence Awards to Annika Thomas, Caroline Smith and its Boosters’ Pride and Character Award to Lucy Wing.

The first team gave its Boosters’ Pride and Character Award to Anna Whalen.

Field hockey reached the playoffs and got to the quarterfinals. That team gave its “Comeback Kid” award to Natalie Anderson, its “Unsung Hero” award to Ireland Hall and its Boosters’ Pride and Character Award to Grace Schnyder.

The JV team gave its Boosters’ Pride and Character Award to Tabatha Sabans.

Cross country had another very strong season.

The boys’ team gave its “Winged Foot” award to Henry Jaques, its “Golden Arrow” award to Yacob Olins and its Boosters’ Pride and Character Award to Alex Les.

The girls’ squad’s “Winged Foot” award winner was Lily Horne. The “Golden Arrow” award went to Emily Sclar. The Boosters’ Pride and Character Award was given to Laura Pierce.

Golf named Ethan Sclar its Most Valuable Player and Molly Whelan its Most Improved Player. The Boosters’ Pride and Character Award was given to Liam Gould.

Cheerleading’s Coaches’ award went to Hope Therrien, the “Spirit” award went to Logan Baumli and the Boosters’ Pride and Character Award was given to Lauren Larrabee.
