After a very competitive season, Freeport recently honored its top fall athletes.

Football, which made the Western C playoffs for the second time in three seasons, gave its Best Offensive Player award to David Schaedler and Best Defensive Player award to Jake Perry. Adam Brobst was given the Boosters’ Pride and Character award.

The junior varsity team gave Athletic Excellence awards to Max Doughty and Brady LaFrance. Justin Levesque won the Booster’s Pride and Character award.

Boys’ soccer, which got to the preliminary round of the Western Class B playoffs, gave Coaches’ awards to Caleb Abbott and Nick Nelsonwood. Ethan Roney won the Boosters’ Pride and Character award.

The JV team gave Athletic Excellence awards to Zach Owen and Jay Pier. Josiah Otis won the Boosters’ Pride and Character award.

The first team gave Athletic Excellence awards to Yacob Olins and Eric Pellitier. Perrin Davidson won the Boosters’ Pride and Character award.

The girls’ soccer team had its best season in nearly a quarter century, upsetting Yarmouth in the quarterfinals before losing to eventual champion Cape Elizabeth in the semifinals. The squad gave Coaches’ awards to Brooke Heathco and Ashley Richardson. Lexi Dietrich won the Boosters’ Pride and Character award.

The JV team gave Athletic Excellence awards to Hannah Morrissey and Marney Stivers. Kaitlyn Johnson won the Boosters’ Pride and Character award.

First team Athletic Excellence awards went to Jordan Randall and Jessica Wall. Kendra Harrison won the Boosters’ Pride and Character award.

Field hockey made the playoffs, beat Greely in a thrilling preliminary round game, then lost at eventual regional champion York in the Western B quarterfinals. Goalie Morgan Karnes won the Rookie award. Lee Brown was named Most Improved Player. Chloe Whittaker won the Boosters’ Pride and Character award.

The JV squad gave Athletic Excellence awards to Priyanka Miller and Emily Randall. Angel Hood won the Boosters’ Pride and Character award.

Both cross country teams were among the best in the state this fall.

The boys’ squad gave its Golden Arrow award to Tyler Frey and its Winged Shoe award to Chandler Vincent. Aaron James Daniel won the Boosters’ Pride and Character award.

The girls’ team, which won the regional title, the Western B Sportsmanship award and qualified for New Englands, gave the Golden Arrow award to Sydney Ambrose and the Winged Shoe award to Elly Bengtsson. Bethanie Knighton took home the Heart of the Harrier award and Emily Jennings won the Boosters’ Pride and Character award.

The golf team gave its Coaches’ award to Wynne Cushing. Ramsey Dodge was named Most Improved Player. Alexis Erlandson took home the Boosters’ Pride and Character award.

Cheering gave its Spirit award to Danielle Morency. Emilee Billings won the Coaches’ award. Rachel Sawyard took home the Boosters’ Pride and Character award.

Middle school honors

Athletes from Durham Community School and Freeport Middle School were also honored.
