The following students will graduate summa cum laude with distinction:

Bennett Lusk Brainard, son of Florence Lusk and Edward Brainard, is a member of the National Honor Society and Model United Nations. Brainard is involved in activities including cross-country running, Nordic skiing, tennis, and worldquest. His awards include the Williams Book Award and the Bausch and Lomb Science Award. Brainard will attend Princeton University.

Taylor Paige Enrico, daughter of Denise and James Enrico, is a member of the National Honor Society, Model United Nations and math team. Her activities include varsity alpine skiing, volunteering as a freshmen mentor, and S/CVA alpine. Her awards include the Yale Book Award, math team highest scoring sophomore and junior, Silver KeyAward, President’s Award for Academic Excellence. Enrico will attend Colby College.

Gemma McElroy, daughter of Kate Butler and Kevin McElroy, is a member of the National Honor Society, RSVP, Seeds of Independence, and served as a freshman mentor. Her activities include dance, choreography and literacy tutoring. Her awards include the Dartmouth Book Award, the American Studies Award, Excellence in English, the Citizenship Award, and the Excellence in Global Studies Award. McElroy will attend Connecticut College.

Ciera M. Wentworth, daughter of Eric and Kelly Wentworth, is a member of the National Honor Society. Her activities include cross-country, indoor track and outdoor track. Her awards include the Scholar Athlete and Athletic Excellence awards, the Colby Book Award and the All-Conference Award. Wentworth will attend Keene State College.

The following students will graduate summa cum laude:

Abrin Berkemeyer, son of Holley and Brian Berkemeyer, is a member of the National Honors Society and the freshmen mentor program. His activities include cross-country running, tennis, indoor track, basketball and soccer. His awards include Junior English Award, the Middlebury Book Award, Most Valued Player for tennis, Cross-Country All-Academic Team, Cross-Country Second Team All-Conference  2012, Tennis Second Team All-Conference 2011 and the Winged Foot Award in cross-country and indoor track. Berkemeyer will attend Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

Sarah Lin Bonney, daughter of Robin and David Bonney, is a member of the National Honor Society, Model United Nations, Interact Club, GSA Club, and Freeport Performing Arts Club. Her activities include volunteering at Wolfe’s Neck Farm, Freeport High School theater/drama, concert band, freshmen mentor program and girls’ tennis. Her awards include the Bowdoin Book Award for The Common Good, the Regional One Act Award for Ensemble, and the President’s Award for Educational Excellence. Bonney will attend Skidmore College.

Daniel Burke, son of Kimberly and Frank Burke, is a member of the National Honor Society, Reducing Sexism and Violence Program, Seeds of Independence and was a freshmen mentoring. Activities include varsity football, varsity basketball, varsity baseball and junior varsity baseball. Awards include All-Academic football and basketball teams, Freeport’s Athlete of the Fall Season, Campbell Conference All-Conference Award, Excellence in American Studies- History Award, the University of Maine Book Award, and the Spanish Award. Burke will attend the University of New England.

Jocelyn Marie Davee, daughter of Anne-Marie Davee and Richard Davee, is a member of the National Honor Society. Her activities include varsity soccer, lacrosse and basketball. Her awards include the U.S. Lacrosse Scholar Award, Western Maine Conference All-Academic Varsity Soccer Award, Most Improved Varsity Basketball and Western Maine Conference First Team Soccer. Davee will attend the University of New England.

Brady N. Davis, son of Michael Davis, Michelle Deane and stepfather Roderick Deane, is a member of the National Honor Society, Seeds of Independence Membership Program, Reducing Sexism and Violence Program and mentored freshmen and transfer students. His activities include varsity cross-country, all-academic team; varsity alpine skiing, all-academic team and varsity baseball. His awards include 2009 Social Studies Student of the Year, 2010-2011 Most Improved Skier, 2010-2011 Combined State Championship Ski Team Member, Winter 2011- 2012 Sports Boosters Pride & Character Award, Spring 2012 Sports Boosters Pride & Character Award, Winter 2012-2013 Sports Boosters Pride & Character Award, George Eastman Young Leaders Award & Scholarship, and second place in the Margaret Chase Smith Essay Contest. Davis will attend the University of Maine, Honors College.

Connor Dietrich, son of Lise Dietrich and Michael Dietrich, is a member of the National Honor Society and served as a freshman mentor. His activities include varsity baseball, varsity soccer and varsity basketball. His awards include Second Team All-Conference Baseball. Dietrich will attend Clarkson University.

Olivia Fowler, daughter of Mary Fowler and David Fowler, is a member of the National Honor Society, and in previous years math team and science olympiad. Outside of school she was involved in 4-H, Lewiston-Auburn Pilot’s Club and the Maine Junior Driving Club. Her activities include an internship in Belgium, Civil Air Patrol (Aerospace, Leadership, Search and Rescue), flying airplanes, horseback riding, carriage driving and several engineering projects. Her awards include Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Scholarship, Society of Women Engineers Mathematical Excellence Award, FHS Dirigo Girls State Representative, Wellesley Book Award, Earhart Award (Civil Air Patrol), Maine Wing Cadet of the Year (Civil Air Patrol) and American Driving Society National Junior Pleasure Driving Champion. Fowler will attend Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.

Connor McLellan, son of Diane McLellan and Douglas McLellan, is a member of the varsity tennis team. He will attend the University of Maine.

Rachelle Natalia Pallin, daughter of Carol and David Pallin, is a member of the National Honor Society, Art Club and Prom Committee. Her activities include soccer, tennis, softball and the mentoring freshmen. Her awards include the Oberlin College Book Award, WMC All-Academic team and Math Achievement Award in ninth grade. Pallin will attend Wentworth Institute of Technology.

Kameron Pierce, child of Dawn Marstaller-Pierce and Rick Pierce is a member of the math team and youth group. Awards include State Math Team 2012 and 2013. Pierce will attend Cedarville University.

James Purdy, son of Jane Purdy and Jamie Purdy, is a member of the National Honor Society, RSVP, Seeds of Independence and served as a freshman mentor. His activities include varsity football, varsity baseball, freestyle skiing and photography/videography. His awards include All-Conference Strong Safety and Quarterback, the Salomon H. Plumber Citizenship Award, All-Academic Team, member of the Maine Chapter of the National Football Foundation, and the Western Conference Sportsmanship Award (male). Purdy will attend Bentley University.

Brittney Shelton, daughter of Lisa Shelton and Tieche Shelton, is a member of the Chamber Choir and Women’s Ensemble. Her activities include tap, jazz, ballet, pointe and hip-hop classes. Shelton will attend Nazareth College in Rochester, N.Y.

Sophie Smith, daughter of Diana Smith and Todd Smith, is a member of the National Honor Society, Interact Club, International Interact and Model United Nations. Her activities include tennis, mock trial, mentoring and school musical prop manager. Her awards include the Physics Award, the St. Lawrence Book Award and the Rising Star Award. Smith will attend Hood College after spending a year in France.

Eliza Smith-Sitnick, daughter of Kelly Smith Barham, David Barham and Jason Sitnick, has been involved in activities including playing violin, Nordic skiing, art, and foreign languages. Smith-Sitnick will attend Goucher College.

Lia Wellen, daughter of Shawne McCord and Andrew Wellen, is a member of Seeds of Independence and Model United Nations and served as a freshmen mentor. Her activities include Nordic skiing, cross-country and fall musical. Her awards include the Frederick Douglas & Susan B. Anthony Award, Excellence in American Studies/English Award, the Solomon H. Plummer Citizenship Award, the President’s Award for Educational Excellence, Pride & Character Award in Nordic skiing and Pride & Character Award in cross-country. Wellen will be attending Clark University.

Lindsay Jane Wold, daughter of Lawrence Wold, is a member of the National Honor Society, Prom Committee, Seeds of Independence, and RSVP. Her activities include serving as a freshmen mentor, and playing soccer, tennis and softball. Her awards include Pride & Character Award in softball and soccer, WMC All-Academic team and the Latin Academic Award. Wold will attend Principia College.
