The following Freeport High School students graduated summa cum laude in the class of 2016.

Caleigh Breton

Caleigh Breton is the daughter of Shelley and David Breton. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Art Club, The Clarion magazine, and FHS Mentors. Her activities included varsity tennis (team captain) and Concert Band (president) Awards won include Harvard Prize Book Award, President’s Education Outstanding Academic Excellence Award, Latin II Academic Excellence Award, Western Studies Scholar Award, Global Studies Academic Excellence Award, and Varsity Tennis Most Improved Coach’s Award. Breton will be attending Drexel University.

Kasey E. Erlebach

Kasey Erlebach is the daughter of Karry Kane and Joshua Erlebach. She is a member of Interact Club, Model United Nations, and the National Honor Society. Activities in high school included fall and winter cheerleading and softball. Erlebach was given the Outstanding Student Award for English 9, American Studies Award for English, Dartmouth Book Award. She was a member of the 2015-2016 All Academic Team, and received the Western Maine Cheerleading Award. Erlebach will be attending the University of Maine at Farmington.

Lily Johnston

Lily Johnston is the daughter of Rosita Moore and Will Johnston. She is a member of The Clarion, Model UN, was a freshman mentor, National Honor Society, RSVP and a Teen Navigate mentor. Activities include cross country, Nordic skiing (varsity captain), and lacrosse (varsity captain). Awards include Yale Book Award, University of Rochester and Maine College of Art Scholarship Awards, Community Involvement and Good Citizenship Award School, Excellence in French, Excellence in World History, Phi Beta Kappa, Maine Principal’s Award, Western Maine Scholarship Athlete Award, Athletic Excellence and Pride and Character Awards – Skiing, Athletic Excellence Cross Country Award, Academic All American Lacrosse, All Conference Cross Country and Skiing, and Maine Team Skiing. Johnston will be attending Bowdoin College.

Bailey Karnes

Bailey Karnes is the daughter of Susan and Kevin Karnes. She is a member of the Math Team, Model United Nations, National Honor Society, and mentor program. Activities include varsity field hockey, varsity basketball, varsity softball, and Club Elite Field Hockey. Awards include American Studies Award, Smith Book Award, and President’s Award for Academic Honors. Karnes will be attending Wheaton College.

Morgan Marie Karnes

Morgan Karnes is the daughter of Susan and Kevin Karnes. She is a member of the Math Team, mentor program, Model UN, Prom Committee, and National Honor Society vice president. Activities include field hockey, basketball, softball, working at Garden Spot farm, and volunteer at youth sports camps. Awards include the Wellesley Book Award, Society of Women Engineers Certificate of Merit, and President’s Award for Educational Excellence. Karnes will be attending Wheaton College.

Quinton E. Libsack

Quinton Libsack is the son of Jennifer and Jamy Libsack. He is a member of Interact Club, Model United Nations, and the National Honor Society. Activities include varsity soccer, Freeport Ultimate Frisbee, and Boy Scouts. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and received the Coach’s Award for varsity soccer. Libsack will be attending San Diego State University.

Forrest Rutland McCurdy

Forrest McCurdy is the son of Jessica Benton McCurdy and Brian McCurdy. Activities include Nordic skiing, soccer, ultimate frisbee and mountain biking. Awards include 2015 Classic Nordic Skiing State Championship. McCurdy is undecided between college or enlisting in the Coast Guard, and is working as an organic farmer on a ranch in Moab, Utah.

Addie Monahan-Morang

Addie Monahan-Morang is the daughter of Robin Monahan and John Morang. She is a member of Student Council, the mentor program, The Clarion, The Falcon Outlet, National Honor Society, Model United Nations, and Reducing Sexism and Violence Program. Awards include Governor’s Young Writer of the Year Award, Academic Achievement Award, Bowdoin Book Award, and President’s Award for Educational Excellence. Monahan-Morang will be attending Brandeis University.

Kyle Andrew Rosado

Kyle Rosado is the son of Jennifer and Kris Rosado. He is a member of Interact Club, Falcon Outlet, World Quest, Math Team, and Investment Club. Activities include soccer and ultimate frisbee. Awards include the RIT Computing Medal and George Eastman Young Leaders Award. Rosado will be attending the United States Military Academy.

Madeleine Squibb

Maddie Squibb is the daughter of Libby Heselton and George Squibb. She is a member of Reducing Sexism and Violence Program, Math Team, Model United Nations, and World Quest Team. Activities include volunteering with Friends of Kakmega, Seeds of Independence, indoor and outdoor track, soccer, and Moody’s Mega Math Challenge. Awards include National Merit Commended Scholar, Sophomore Excellence in Math, Pride and Character in soccer, Pride and Character in track, Finish Line Award in track, All-Conference First Team in the 400-meter dash, and All-Academic for track and soccer. Squibb will be attending Bowdoin College.
