FREEPORT — The Summer Blueberry Festival will kick off with a free concert by the Chandler Military Band on Friday night, Aug. 1, at 7 p.m. at the South Freeport Church.
The Half Moon Jug will also perform at the festival, which runs through Sunday, Aug. 3 The local band will take the stage Saturday night at 7 p.m. with an admission fee of $10. Tickets can only be bought in advance at brownpapertickets.com.
On Saturday, the festival opens at 9 a.m., featuring an all-day craft and “attic treasure” sale, as well as events and games for kids. A lobster roll lunch will be available for $15 and there will be a hamburger and hot dog option for $5.
Prior to the Half Moon Jug concert, there will be a barbecue cookout, with blueberry crisp for dessert, for $15. Blueberry baked goods will be for sale throughout the festival.
