SOUTH PORTLAND — Low- and middle-income families looking for help preparing their taxes can receive free assistance from IRS-certified volunteers from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, March 8, at Goodwill Industries of Northern New England, 125 John Roberts Road.

The event, hosted by a statewide group of nonprofit coalitions called CASH Maine, aims to save residents money on their taxes by connecting them with financial education resources and helping qualified residents claim Earned Income Tax Credits.

This year, families can receive one-on-one tax counseling for college savings. For more information, visit cashmaine.org or call 211.
