BATH — Franklin “Danny” Williams, 62, died unexpectedly May 30 in Jackman.
He was born in Bath on Nov. 13, 1947, a son of John R. and Edna G. Staples Williams, and attended local schools, graduating from Morse High School in 1968.
In March 1969 he married Deborah Jones of Phippsburg.
After high school, he joined the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Florida, Korea, England, and New York. He retired as a Master Sergeant after 24 years of service.
For the next 20 years he worked as a pipe fitter at Bath Iron Works until he retired last year.
He was an active member of the Corliss Street Baptist Church, and enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his granddaughters.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 41 years, Deborah Williams of Bath; his son, Thomas G. Williams of Bath; two brothers, John R. Williams Jr., of Bath, and Stephen Bruce Williams of Lincoln; two granddaughters, Mikayla and Marrisa Williams of Bath; several nieces and nephews; and the Jones extended family.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 5 at David E. Desmond & Son Funeral Home, 638 High St., Bath.
Memorial donations may be made to Corliss Street Baptist Church, 402 Middle St., Bath.
