BRUNSWICK — Frank “Sonny” Bishop Jr., 80, formerly of Fort Fairfield, died Nov. 6 at Mid Coast Hospital.
On Sept. 6, 1929, he was born in Presque Isle, a son of Frank and Violet Hersey Bishop, Sr., and attended schools in Easton and Fort Fairfield.
For 40 years he worked as a master mechanic for the International Union of Operating Engineers Local No. 4.
He enjoyed motorcycling, snowmobiling and restoring antique engines.
He was predeceased by a brother, Russell Bishop, and a sister, Betty Maynard.
Surviving are his wife, Chrystal Miller Bishop of Brunswick; three children, Randy M. Bishop and his wife, Debbra of Newport News, Va., Beverly Fisher and her husband Don of Henderson, Nev., and Sylvia Matthews and her husband, Jim of Rochester Hills, Mich.; a brother, Donald Bishop of Fort Fairfield; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A funeral service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday at Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal St., Brunswick. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Estes Cemetery, Easton.
