SCARBOROUGH — Frances Hazelbud Hoeller, 93, of Scarborough, died peacefully March 20, with her loving family at her side.

She was born in Perryville, Mo., on May 20, 1920, the daughter of Alvin F. and Stella DiFani Hazelbud. She attended local schools graduating from Perryville High School, class of 1937. She attended Southeast Missouri College.

On Dec. 16, 1944, she married Warren J. Hoeller and in the following years they lived in Missouri, Florida, California, Ohio, Maryland and Iran before retiring to Cape Elizabeth and Scarborough.

Hoeller worked as a secretary for International Shoe Co. in Perryville, Mo., and the National Institute of Health, when living near Washington, D.C. She had a fond appreciation for the cultural arts and in her spare time she enjoyed knitting, painting, traveling, photography and spending time in the outdoors. She had a special love for reading and a gift for writing family and friends. She was caring and humble of heart.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Warren J. Hoeller Sr., of Scarborough; three children, Joe and wife, Mary, John and wife, Carole, and Holly Hoeller Pertmer and husband, Gary; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Conroy-Tully Crawford Funeral Home, Portland.
