PORTLAND — Public forums on planned improvements to five city elementary schools will take place over the next three weeks.

The forums will present an opportunity for the public to review two or three concept designs for improvements to Hall, Longfellow, Lyseth, Presumpscot and Reiche elementary schools. Oak Point Associates, the consulting firm hired by the School Department to develop the plans for the projects, will be represented at each forum.

Participants will be asked which of the design alternatives most successfully addresses the building issues and concerns shared at neighborhood charrettes in January. Oak Point will use the feedback to finalize the design concepts for each of the schools.

The forums are scheduled for March 18 at 6:30 p.m. at Longfellow Elementary School, 432 Stevens Ave.; March 21 at 6 p.m., Reiche Community School, 166 Brackett St.; March 28 at 6:30 p.m., Hall Elementary School, 23 Orono Road, and April 1 at 6:30 p.m., Presumpscot Elementary School, 69 Presumscot St.
