SOUTH PORTLAND — A forum with the seven candidates vying for two seats on the City Council will be held Tuesday, Oct. 4.
Facilitated by the South Portland Land Trust, the forum will give the candidates an opportunity to discuss city environmental issues, including the use of open space.
Mayor Tom Blake’s at-large term is expiring, as is Councilor Maxine Beecher’s. Blake is termed out, but Beecher is seeking re-election. She is challenged by School Board member Richard Carter; former School Board member James Gilboy; Susan Henderson; Kate Lewis; former state Rep. Louis Maietta Jr., and former Councilor Michael Pock.
South Portland Land Trust President Steve Jocher will moderate the forum, which will run from 7-8:30 p.m. in the council chambers at City Hall, at 25 Cottage Road.
