Former Waynflete School player and Lyman native Ellie Cole, now a junior at Colorado College in Colorado Springs., Colo., was named to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference first-team for women’s lacrosse after helping the Tigers win the conference championship last month. Cole, who had three goals and two assists in the conference title game, finished second on the team with 24 assists and 51 points and tied for second with 27 goals and a pair of game-winners. In just two seasons, Cole already ranks No. 17 in program annals with 33 career assists, 18th with 88 points and 19th with 55 goals. Cole was part of Waynflete’s 2008 and 2009 Class B state championship teams.
