Freeport’s Matt Libby, a graduate of Cheverus High School, helped Gettsyburg to a 14th-place finish at the recent NCAA championships in Indianapolis, Ind. Libby swam in seven events, including all five relays, and earned All-America honors in all three freestyle relays. Libby anchored the 200- and 400-freestyle squads that placed seventh to earn first-team All-America recognition as well as the 800-freestyle team that took 11th to garner honorable mention. Libby also swam the butterfly leg of both the 200- and 400-medley relay teams that each placed 17th to miss All-America status by one spot. In addition, he placed 20th in the 200-freestyle and 21st in the 100-freestyle as Gettysburg finished with 60 points to place 14th among 52 teams that scored a point.
