BRUNSWICK — A former Bowdoin College student charged in May with raping another student has been indicted by a Cumberland County grand jury.

Logan Taylor, 21, of Brunswick, was indicted on a single count of gross sexual assault, a Class A felony that carries a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison.

Brunswick police arrested Taylor in the early morning hours of May 25 for a crime that allegedly occurred the previous night.

Taylor resigned from the college this summer and is no longer enrolled, Bowdoin spokesman Doug Cook said Tuesday.

An indictment is a finding that enough evidence exists to prosecute, not a determination of guilt. The date of Taylor’s next court appearance was not immediately available on Tuesday.
