TOPSHAM — Florence A. Bartlett, 85, died Oct. 11 at her home surrounded by her family and long-time friend, Margaret “Pinky” Karawowski.

On Feb. 9, 1924, she was born in Yarmouth, the daughter of Lawrence and Lucy Richards DeRoche, and attended Yarmouth schools.

On Oct. 11, 1947 she married James F. Bartlett Sr.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and cooking and in later years, enjoyed bowling, traveling, playing cards and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan.

She was predeceased by her husband James on July 10, 1983 and her brother, Edmond DeRoche.

Surviving are two sons, James Bartlett Jr., and his wife Alice, and Dwight Bartlett and his wife Janice, all of Topsham; a brother, Ernest DeRoche of Yarmouth; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Memorial visiting hours will by held from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16 at Stetson’s Funeral Home, 12 Federal St., Brunswick. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. John’s the Baptist Church, Brunswick, followed by interment in St. John’s Cemetery, Brunswick.
