FALMOUTH — Flagship Premium Cinemas opened July 13, marking the return of a commercial movie theater to town.

According to a press release, the 10-screen theater, which is the Boston-based company’s 15th in the country, is a state-of-the-art multiplex featuring power-reclining chairs with ottomans, and digital sound and projection. It also has self-service soda stations, reserved seating and specialty programing.

Flagship opened its first theater in Falmouth in 1995 at the same location, 206 U.S Route 1, next to Wal-Mart. Regal Cinemas eventually took over the business before closing in 2012. The building remained vacant until Flagship announced its return in early April

Flagship has theaters in Auburn, Thomaston, Waterville and Wells, Maine, as well as Massachusetts, Vermont, Florida, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virgina.
