SOUTH PORTLAND — A Florida man with driving violations, license suspensions and revocations in several states faces charges after his arrest early Saturday morning.
Lanny Griffin, 31, most recently of Milton, Fla., was charged by Officer Chris Gosling with operating under the influence, felony operating after revocation as a habitual offender, operating without a license, criminal speeding and possession of marijuana.
Police Lt. Frank Clark said Griffin was arrested around 1:20 a.m. at Exit 2 off Interstate 295 after Gosling saw him driving 76 mph in a 35-mph zone on the Veterans Memorial Bridge.
Clark said Griffin also had an outstanding, but non-extraditable Florida warrant charging him with operating under the influence and possession of marijuana. His license was permanently revoked in Florida and his licenses in Kentucky, Alabama and Nebraska were suspended or revoked.
Griffin told police he was moving to Maine, but does not have a Maine drivers license.
