FREEPORT — The annual L.L. Bean Spring Fishing exposition will take place at the Bean campus on Saturday and Sunday, March 21 and 22, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Many “Legends of Fishing” will be available to visit with customers, sign autographs, give demonstrations and free fly-casting lessons, including David Klausmeyer, Bob Popovics, Mike Martinek, Ted Rogowski, Flip Pallot, Stu Apte, Joan Wulff, Mark Sosin and Tim Rajeff.
Commissioner Patrick McGowan of the Maine Department of Conservation will speak, and biologists from the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife will hold a panel discussion to address all aspects of fishing in Maine.
The weekend events are free and will include children’s activities and special promotions.
During the weekend, 5 percent of all sales of fishing gear and apparel will go to the Dept. of Fisheries and Wildlife’s “Hooked on Fishing, Not Drugs” program.
