YARMOUTH — Firefighters extinguished a blaze Friday morning, July 2, that destroyed a private dock off Wills Way on Cousins Island.
According to Deputy Fire Chief Michael Robitaille, the fire call came in at 3:04 a.m. The dock, the ramp leading to the water and a small boat were destroyed in the flames. Robitaille said he estimated the damage to be about $50,000.
No one was injured in the fire, and the cause was undetermined at noon Friday.
Besides the Yarmouth Fire Department, Robitaille said the harbormaster responded to the call along with firefighters from North Yarmouth. He said the fire was out in about an hour.
