Father and daughter earn karate distinction

Sensei Lauren Dawes and her father, Sensei John Dawes, who train at Tracy’s Yarmouth karate dojo, recently were promoted to second degree black belt at a tournament in Ellsworth. Sensei Caroline Tracy earned her first degree Black belt. Many students from the dojo also participated in a tournament in Bucksport and received trophies in both kumite and ju-jitsu throwing divisions.
