BRUNSWICK — Executive Director Greg Farr is leaving the Brunswick Downtown Association to become senior vice president of Rollease Corp., a Stamford, Conn., maker of window coverings.

“I look forward to my new challenge and also keeping my ties with the Brunswick area,” Farr said, adding he and his wife, Carolyn, plan to return to Brunswick frequently and keep their Brunswick home. “It has been a wonderful experience and I am sorry it has to get cut short. Carolyn and I will both miss being full-time residents. We truly love this area.”

Farr became the first full-time executive director of the BDA in August 2009.

Stephanie Slocum, former part-time director of the BDA, will serve as interim executive director starting in mid-January.

Prior to joining the BDA, Slocum was branch manager at Bank of America in Brunswick. She left the BDA to become economic development director in Freeport, was a Freeport representative to the Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority and then retired to South Carolina, where she became involved with her community’s Main Street Program and downtown branding.
