SCARBOROUGH — The family of a missing woman is holding a candlelight vigil at 7 p.m. on June 25 in Congress Square in Portland followed by a poster and balloon launch at Walmart in Scarborough on June 26 at 8:30 a.m.

Megan Waterman, 22, of Scarborough, went missing on June 6 after traveling to Hauppauge, a town on Long Island, N.Y. She was last seen at a Holiday Inn Express with her boyfriend, Akeem Cruz, 20, of Brooklyn.

Waterman lives in Scarborough with her grandmother and 3-year-old daughter.

The family first became worried when Waterman did not phone home to talk to her daughter, something she typically does three times per day when she travels.

Police in Scarborough and in New York are investigating the case and ask that anyone with information please call the Scarborough Police at 883-6361.

The family and the organization LostNFound, are maintaining a website with Waterman’s photo and description at meganwaterman.com.
