FALMOUTH — The town will accept credit cards as payment for over-the-counter transactions at Town Hall starting Oct. 1.
The town is launching Maine PayPort, which will allow use of Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express credit cards. residents will be able to use credit cards to pay for parking tickets, registrations, licenses, recreation fees, property taxes and other services. There will be a $3 minimum, and a service charge of 2 1/2 percent.
Maine PayPort Service is provided by InforME, the state’s digital government services provider.
