FALMOUTH — The town is accepting nominations for its annual Citizen of the Year award. The deadline is Monday, May 21.

The award honors someone who’s has made “an outstanding contribution to the municipality” and demonstrated “positive examples of citizenship,” according to a post on the town’s website.

Nominations must be submitted in writing and must be 500 words or less. The Town Council will judge the nominations based on the nominee’s contributions to community welfare, civic achievement, volunteerism and conscientious service to town government

The award will be presented at a municipal banquet in June. Nominations can be mailed to Town Manager’s Office, 271 Falmouth Road, Falmouth, ME  04105, or emailed to mtryon@falmouthme.org.
