Francesco Montanari and Myles Everett in Falmouth’s ‘B’ boat compete in the Interscholastic Sailing Association Atlantic Coast Championships in Toms River, N.J., earlier this month. The Yachtsmen came in third as a team in the two-day regatta, comprised of 18 high schools from Maine to Florida. The format included an “A” boat and a “B” boat from each school, two sailors per boat. Falmouth was one of four New England schools to qualify and the only one from Maine. Seven sailors traveled to the regatta. Falmouth’s two boats were skippered by Charlie Lalumiere (with Ellie MacEwan crew) and Montanari (Everett crew). Haley McMahon also saw some action as alternate crew and Tily Milburn and Sean Connolly attended as alternates. Next, four sailors will travel to New Orleans for the Great Oaks Regatta, which serves as the fall high school national championships.
