FALMOUTH — Residents can review new Federal Emergency Management Agency flood maps for Cumberland County in person at Town Hall or online.
Under the new maps, some properties in town are now designated as Special Flood Hazard Areas. Property owners who believe their properties have been incorrectly mapped may appeal.
All appeals must contain evidence that FEMA’s flood hazard data is scientifically or technically incorrect. Appeals must be submitted to the town code office no later than Oct. 30.
Questions regarding FEMA’s re-mapping effort may be submitted to Code Enforcement Officer Justin Brown at jbrown@falmouthme.org or 699-5306. More information is also available on the town website www.falmouthme.org.
