For many months now, involving much input from our community, engineers, architects, and consultants among others, the Town Council has investigated the reuse of the Plummer/Motz/Lunt school site. This coming Monday, the Town Council will vote on the actual June referendum language. The referendum would address relocating our library and community programs, as well as establishing a recreation center to be utilized and enjoyed by all Falmouth citizens.

The council has been most deliberative in preparing to provide the opportunity for the town to vote on the school campus, and in a way that both addresses current needs, while also providing flexibility for future needs. They have gotten to this point while also being very sensitive to current economic circumstances. As a result, the referendum will be structured in a way not requiring an increase in the tax rate.

The Town Council has worked to reach consensus on this referendum question. The outcome is something this citizen is very pleased by and the council in their collective capacity should be proud of.
