FALMOUTH — The Police Department and the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency will be sponsoring a drug take-back program on Saturday, Sept. 27.
The event, which will run from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., will be in the lobby of the Police Department at 2 Marshall Drive.
The goal is to prevent pill abuse and theft by collecting expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs. The service is free and anonymous, with no questions asked. Only solid drugs will be accepted; no needles or liquids.
People are asked to use this method of disposal as opposed to flushing the pills or throwing them in the trash, because those methods are potential health hazards and safety risks.
