Falmouth police officer promoted to sergeant

FALMOUTH — Police Officer George Savidge was promoted and assigned as a patrol sergeant.

Savidge joined the Police Department in 2002 after four years with the Bath Police Department. He grew up in Falmouth, is a graduate of the Maine Criminal Justice Academy in Vassalboro and holds an associates degree in law enforcement from Southern Maine Technical College.

Savidge, who is married and has three children, is currently working towards a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice at Northeastern University. He serves as an instructor at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy and as the department’s firearms and training ammunition instructor.

A Maine native and Colby College graduate, Alex has been covering coastal communities since 2001, and currently handles Bath, Topsham, Cumberland, and North Yarmouth. He and his wife, Lauren, live in the Portland area, and Alex recently released his third album of original music.
